We are Cyber Essentials Certified!

DOCUFLOW ARE PROUD TO BE CYBER ESSENTIALS ACCREDITED

In a world of ever-increasing cyber threats, it is imperative that cybersecurity strategies evolve within organisations, to prevent common exploits. Cyber Essentials is an important certification for suppliers to demonstrate they have the systems and processes in place to stop damaging data and information breaches.

Cyber Essentials is an independent recognition that an organisation meets the requirements of governing industry standards. It is an important way to give confidence in goods, services, management systems and people.

You may already be aware from the news that costs of cyber insurance are soaring in response to the rise in cyber-attacks. This has highlighted the new reality in which targeted cyber-attacks by skilled and persistent criminals are now affecting all organisations, from the public to the private sector.

Cyber-attacks on businesses large and small are a regular occurrence of daily life. It is virtually impossible these days to read a news story or visit a news website and not read a report of another data hack or the ‘accidental’ loss of valuable customer information. A substantial amount of these costly incidents can easily be prevented by taking some simple steps and implementing a few basic controls, including examining the following:

  • Is there a firewall in place and correctly configured?
  • Is the network and file permissions set in a secure way?
  • Do you have adequate and up to date antivirus and malware protection?
  • Are your software and firmware updated frequently?

Four in ten businesses (39%) a quarter of charities (26%) report having cyber security breaches or attacks in the last 12 months. Like previous years, this is higher among medium businesses (65%), large businesses (64%) and high-income charities (51%)
(HM Govt. Cyber Security Breaches Survey 2021).

What is the process?

The Cyber Essentials process consists of an assessment completed by the organisation applying to the scheme. This is then reviewed by an independent certifying body, and a decision about whether to award the certificate is made following review, annual recertification is required to keep the cyber breach insurance in place.

Why do businesses choose to achieve this?

Organisations use the standard to demonstrate their ability to consistently provide products and services that meet customer and regulatory requirements. It helps suppliers prove to their customers that efforts and actions have been made to mitigate against damaging cyber-attacks and data breaches.

Docuflow are delighted to have achieved our Cyber Essentials accreditation, proving that we  are committed to taking a stance against cyber-attacks and providing peace of mind to our clients that we take our Cyber Security seriously.
